Gasket between oil tank and chain case cover

Trying to find a part number for the gasket that is between the oil tank and chain case cover . Had the whole assembly off the sled this summer and when I put the chain case cover back on and refilled the sump with engine oil it was leaking all over my shop floor. Upon inspection a fairly steady drop was coming from the bottom of the oil sump between the sump and the chaincase cover. I took the cover for the sump off and inspected it for cracks but it is fine. I think the gasket may have dried up a bit over the summer. The weird thing is I have never separated the sump from the chain case cover so was surprised to find that it was engine oil that was leaking and not chain case oil. Chain case was torqued properly to spec as well. Anyways I cannot find the gasket that fits the profile of the sump. It's not in the chain case assembly or the oil tank assembly fiche either. Dealers around here don,t know where it is. Anybody actually replace one of these?

They use a silicone sealant.

I have had the best luck with "THE RIGHT STUFF" by Permatex. It works great on surfaces that are exposed to oil and fuel and should be available at your local auto parts store.

I would also recommend Mack's silicon sealant. If you have a Mack truck dealer in town just ask them for their white silicon. Best stuff I've ever used and cost no more than department store stuff.

What are your thoughts on this? Came with my update kit.

My chain case oil started leaking out over the summer also. The dealer replaced the gasket while doing the updates.

Racin how long would be safe to let stand before putting oil in? I was really hoping to ride to tonight ?
