Gasahol stations

Are there any fuel stations left in WA that generally do not sell alcohol laced gasoline? I was at a Chevron near SeaTac airport the other day (for diesel) and found the "up to 10% ethanol" on the gasoline pump.

Gas + Alcohol
-------------
ARCO
Union 76
virtually all mom & pop
convenient store
grocery store
Chevron

Gasoline (straight up)

Shell ?
Exxon ?

In the Seattle metro area---No fuel for the street without alchohol in it. It is mandated by the EPA during our winter months(6 mo). Good luck with that --finding it without some spirits in it:beer;. The fuel is all pumped out of 2 different facilities for all brands--difference is in the additive package that the different brands use, not the base fuel.

I've got 300 gallons of the summer fuel all ready to go. Next year plan ahead.

Better start using it--unless you have a stabilizer in it---90 days from life to death on gasoline today---and yesterday.

Better hope this snow gets here so you can start burning it---

Sorry 'bout u Westsiders

Sorry to hear about your luck....on top of electing Gregiore (thanks azzholez) now you get corn syrup in your gas. Most stations here in Wenatchee do not have any "E2" in the gas YET. :lips:

They've been putting Ethanol in the fuel for quite some time now. some fuel station's like Arco put more in than other's that's why if you run gas from Arco then pull your fuel filter you'll generally find water in the filter. Like H20SKE said all fuel either comes out of Harbor Island in Seattle or Tacoma and whenever a truck leave's the "rack" they have to have whatever additive the particular company advertises. This all coming from a friend who drive's for Arco , His comment to me was he wold never ever run Arco gas in any of his 2 stroke engines because Arco uses such a large amount of Ethanol.

Anyone that voted for her should not be allowed to ride! The thing is, I don't think anyone on this site did eccept maybe Ruffy and even if they did they wouldn't admit it. Fricken Idiots!! If you voted for her you are DUMB!!! Look in the mirror, you're Dumb!

Ok, rant over I feel better. Eric

Exxon fuel??

Does Exxon fuel have Ethanol in it? I called the Exxon station on south hill puyallup and ask them last night if their fuel had Ethanol in it. The station attendent said that Exxon fuel does not have ethanol in it. I stopped by the station tonight and looked at all of their pumps and there are NO stickers that say "UP to 10% Ethanol" on any pump. I went inside and ask the station attendent, who was different than the person that I talked to last night, if their fuel had Ethanol in it. He told me that Exxon fuel doesnt have Ethanol in it. True or not true?? That is the question.

Yes it has Ethanol in it. The pump or should I say--mini mart cashiers have no clue what is in it or not. Like stated above--all fuel has a minimum of 6% Ethanol and does not have to be marked unless it has above 8%. We have all been driving with it for about 15 years at least--this is not anything new--we had it back in 89 and people were going nuts with all the water in fuel issues--plus it brought all the dirt from the bottom of your tank to the top(filter plug issue). But back in the old days it was only here for winter--it has been here for over 10 years all year long. Fact of life--even if we do not like it.

As for it making more HP---Not going to happen unless tuned for it--that is because you can feed more fuel because that is what is required to make more HP with a Ethanol fuel---We pumped about 10 times the fuel through our sprint car than we would with gasoline. The BTU value is lower with Ethanol--Equals less HP.

Paul, et.al.

The only WA regulation re oxygenated fuel I can find concerns Spokane County.

http://apps.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=173-492&full=true

My recollection from last year or two years ago is that the enviroweanies wanted the state to require oxygenated (ethanol) fuel in the Puget Sound area even though the air quality specs didn't warrant it.

Are the refineries blending in ethanol for (a) regulatory reasons or (b) financial reasons?

Yah, per volume Ethanol has less energy content then gasoline..... Though HP is dependent upon engine design and many other factors. Raise up your compression so that it is optimized for the higher octane of ethanol and you can get some if not most of your hp back... Though, again, you will be using more ethanol by volume compared to gasoline, due to equal HP's requiring different volume amounts of fuel.

I do not know if it is state required or not--But we have had this fuel since the late 80's. Know it is with us year around. I beleive it is EPA/air quality control board or 1 of our overbearing government controlled entities that are requireing it.

Has anyone ever had a problem running pump gas in a sled designed for pump gas??? I don't think it's an issue unless your on the ragged edge, but then everything becomes an issue. :beer;
