You can buy the rubber self adhesive pads that Timbersled uses for the gas can mount. Just head over to your parts dealer and pick one up. I bought an extra one to go under my tunnel bag since even the Mountain Addiction rails will eat away at the powder coat.
Lowes sells a rubber stick on mat for trailer steps that looks like checker plate. Its dirt cheap and works great you need to seam it though but that's no big deal basically just peel and stick.
