G8 Gauge / Group Ride Questions

Howdy,

I have a couple of questions about the G8 gauge.

The web site says it is US-only. We can't use this feature in Canada?
Why would that be?

Is there a Garmin device available that I could put on my sons sled so I could see his location on the G8 gauge?
I don't really want to mount a full device with display etc on his sled I just want to be able to know where he is on my gauge.
He does not need to know where I am but I want to know where he is

It uses a radio frequency for tracking that isn't allowed to be used in Canada is the word.

SnoWest podcast said if you aren't in Canada it will track other Garmin devices like an in-reach.

In Canada, i believe tracking works with cell phone internet services. So unfortunately you have to be in an area with cell service.

No it’s uses a radio frequency in the US for group ride.
