i broke the kill switch on a tree branch, and the dealer says its back-ordered. has anyone tried an XM switch (or anything else). it looks the same as an XM, but maybe the wire connector is different (XM and G4 have different part numbers)

Billet aluminum kill switch is the only way to go. Just cut and solderScreenshot_2017-02-07-18-16-20.jpg

i dont want a momentary swtich because i have e-start. i know it has a tether, but i still dont want a momentary button.

I took my bars off and mounted it under my grab bar had to cut a hole in my bar bag but hopefully will prevent breaking. And I put a rain bird sprinkler Spring on it so I gotta hold it to shut off.

The aftermarket billet switches are the way to go hands down. I never make it through the season before the stock one breaks. It just doesn't hold up to tree branches and such. I got the fly one referenced in a post above. Half the price of the Munster.

I have used the fly billet kill switch on my last three sleds.

On my G4 I have gone with the Boost It relocation system which keeps them out of the way and accidentally hitting it and sending you over the bars.

I guess there’s a reason the Fly racing kill switch is half the price. I just removed mine last night because it wasn’t working and I pulled it apart to see what the issue was. As it turns out, it doesn’t seal up very well. Moisture had gotten in and corroded the contacts. I would have figured it’d last more than a couple seasons. And yes it’s always been stored indoors. Guess I’ll be going with Munster this time.

leave the switch where it is and use a protector.

I’ll sell you one. I have one that I am removing and another that the wire was cut but could be spliced in easily.

Yes why I use the TKI protector, works the same and the best, moving it and having to hold it can be a bad idea in an emergency. Simple effective and works so good!

I have a new g4 take off kill switch assembly that still has the wires and prongs I would sell you for half price of new.

Mine has done this too. I just pull the rubber out, remove the small metal contact washer and clean the corrosion off it. Careful, its easy to loose the washer. Put it back together and it works like new.
