If you have had, or are afraid that you may have issues with the tunnel on your PRO directly behind the drop bracket where the top of the rear scissor mounts similar to the attached pictures... I've come up with a fix.

I have designed a re-enforcement panel set that I can ship to you to strengthen this area.

This kit uses all stock rivet hole locations as well as added rivets for extra strength. Stainless rivets will be provided.

I have attached pictures of the prototype panel set installed on one side of my sled. keep in mind this install was to get me by until my new tunnel arrives. I will be adding this NEW kit to my new tunnel when it arrives.

Cheers, Steve!

They are shipping a new one to my dealer under warranty. This product will prevent anyone else who uses it having to fight for warranty as well as keeping them on the snow. At first they denied the claim stating that I had to much weight on the tunnel.. ie, gas can etc. I have a great dealer and they fought for me.

Good to hear...seems like it always comes down to whether or not your dealer will help you out.

I was told any modification to tunnel, frame, body or engine and engine components void warranty. They look great but It sure would void my 4 year warranty.

I can tell you it took 2 weeks for Polaris to step up and warranty my tunnel when it failed. When the new one gets here these supports will be installed before the tunnel goes in the sled. If you seriously think that these panels will void your warranty then they are not for you. Do you think that Polaris engineers would add a brace, illbeit insufficient to an area of a tunnel that they did not think would be an issue. Never had em on any IQs to my knowledge nor did any fail to my knowledge. It would be nice for you to sustansiate your voided warranty claim though.

I think it's cool that you came up with something like this. But, I'm concerned that with all those holes it will become weaker. It looks perforated. Have you been able to test this to see if there is any tearing or cracking in between all of those rivets? I know there were problems with drilling into the side of the tunnel on the IQ RMK's.

Glad Polaris took care of you. There won't be 20 threads on that, but if they didn't take care of you we would never hear the end of it. I'd be pissed, but that's just how the 4M blows up (I think it is mostly the other brand guys).

The original Prototype as seen on my sled has more rivets than the production panels. You would be correct in your theory if there were no back up plate that gets installed on the inside of the tunnel. Basically you are sandwiching the tunnel between to re enforcement panels. Look again at the failure picture of the original factory panels... The rivets failed first allowing the tunnel to fracture. This was not a failure caused by jumping or abuse.

It is a very good idea to add these to the tunnel, I already built a set matching the stock braces but out of 1/4 6061 plate, solid no holes...used all cherry rivits and its not going anywhere. Would recomend these as almost a "must do" :face-icon-small-coo

Hopefully the attached will break this down for the skeptics. I have just received another order form a fellow snowwester who has had the exact same failure as I did. Still has not been approved for warranty?

Good looking product. My only concern if I had a Pro would be if this could create and "out" for Polaris if you do have a problem. What if another part of the tunnel has an issue. Technically you did mod your tunnel.

How many Pro's have had this issue?

For the people that are concerned about it voiding your warranty, call polaris or dealer and find out. That's the only way you're going to get a positive YES or NO answer.

when I did these reinforcments on my dragon neither the dealer ,nor polaris had any issues with them, never an issue with warranty..I have a few sets of these out there on dragons, xp,s and now some pros(just getting ready to proto the 163 pros now)in fact my dealer got a set for one of the assaults they have...but I would check your dealer first for sure.......

I will add this, if you are a big jumper/bump rider, with a bag and a 2.5 on the back you can still buckle the tunnel with just the brace at the suspension mnts...(I did it on my dragon after bracing it with a small reinforcment)the tunnel will fold either right in frt or right behind the braced area..thats why we go the full length of the tunnel and tie to the bulkhead...
