FYI: SNEAK PEAK OF C3 2013 PRO-RMK DRIVE KIT

go build your own...

Absolutely. Everyone needs to eat. But steak every night? I wasnt unrealistic with the numbers i posted in them making a profit. I even put the belt right at 200 bucks when its only 90. Thats 110 bucks right there. The tensioner bracket at 200 bucks is a profit in my book. Maybe only 30-40 bucks by the time you pay the machinist. 150 dollars for a set of pulleys is also probably a high guess. Would think at least 50 buck there. The tensioner pulley at 60 bucks. Well gotta be 10 bucks there. And the bolts. I put them right at 20 bucks. Probably about 15 dollars there. Whats that. 220.00-250.00 profit per kit. If there is no profit in the kit at 650 bucks explain to me why the 11-12 kit is the same but has the back plate that costs probably a couple hundred bucks to manufacture and its the same price as the kit without. Obviously just a money grab for the 13 kit.
Obviously. You should just start building them yourself, think of the $$$ you'll make.:face-icon-small-dis
I just purchased a C3 Syncrodrive for my sled, and the quality shows in the product. I believe you get what you pay for. What sold me on the C3 product is other rider's reports, and the fact that dealing with Kevin has been very pleasant, and he does take the time talk to you - not just a "What your Visa # and shipping address?" Good people, good products - the sled industry need more people like him.

There are some whiners on here. Powerage lets say it cost $650.00 to build that pulley system, what about the overhead of the shop (rent, mortgage, utilities) to supply and stock them, or the advertising to get the product out there, all the R&D. The person that needs to be paid to take your order, the person that ships your order. And that probably only a few of the actual costs of building something like this. There is so much more that goes into the cost of something like this than two pulleys a belt and a tensioner some bolts and instructions.

C3, good looking product, thanks for giving us a better option.

I too know all to well the cost of product developement. Depending on how you approach and end it can make or break the product. Its just not completely understood by some, and thats completely understandable. Its a tuff industy to make a buck at. There are a couple company's making belt drives and all great products, you just need to chose the best option for your application. I dont see C3 being that out of line. JMHO Thanks!

It's a waste of time trying to explain how to run a business to someone who has never done it or who has done it poorly. The sled biz is even tougher than most. Profit seems to be an ugly word sometimes and some people don't want ANYBODY to make a profit off them To be nice let's just say that a lot of sledders are very frugal. :face-icon-small-hap

the word your looking for is cheep ! ha ha
and lets face it its not just sleders its people
"I want it now! cheep ! and who cares if it doesn't last i'll throw it away and get another one thats shinier "

everyone i ride with that have a C3 belt drive love it and feel
it truely improved their sleds performance so good job C3 keep it up

powerage one thing you may have forgot is C3 doesn't get the $950 from dealers so that
cuts into their profit margin

I regularly ride with 2 other 13 pros, and just rode with 3 others that I hadn't seen since last year, 0 belt failures, 0 drive shaft issues. The highest mileage of the bunch 1100. I too bought into hysteria and bought a spare belt that will probably go with my sled so that I can get the new one.

qd failure

Bro bought a 13 pro rode it 16 miles into the woods, climbed 3 hills and on the 3rd hill, QD belt blew and he rolled his sled down the hill 5 times, endoed2-3 times and then it took us 1.5 hours to drag the sled out 5 miles, also had 3" track on pro but it pulled really hard, had to pull it by hand in 2 bad spots.

I agree. I ride with 2 others besides myself. Over 2000 miles between the 3 of us. Not a lick of trouble whatsoever. Original belts. No driveshaft issue. NOTHING.

For those that have had good luck that represent the majority of QD PRO owers.... that is the way that it is supposed to be... but there are a significant number of people that ARE having issues... some of them are causing your fellow sledders heartache...

I can see it from both sides... those with issues feel slighted by those without problems telling them they are "whining" or "complaining" ... those without issues feel that others are "bumming them out" with all the negative talk.

I can say, in all honesty, that there sledders, just like you and me, that have had issues with their QD system on their 2013 PRO RMK's that have kept them from enjoying a problem-free season on their new $12,000 investment-in-fun... saying otherwise is insensitive IMO.

In the end... do what gives you peace of mind.

Just wondering what ratios you guys would recommend for the C3 system and will it work with electric start?
Thank
Ian

Ian, I just finished installing a C3 system into my wife's 2013 PRO RMK 600ES that has been big bored to a 660 from Carl's Cycle. The kit will fit with electric start, and I went to a 2.12:1 ratio, using stock drivers and a Camoplast Challenger Extreme 2.5" track (155 length).

I just finished installing the C3 , and the bolt for the tensioner wheel is hitting the battery . Just wondering if anyone has a part number for a battery that is not so wideImageUploadedByTapatalk1372656969.309916.jpg

Although the wife's sled has e-start, I had previously installed an anti-gravity 12 cell lithium battery, which is half the size of the stocker. I also noticed from your photo that you need to remove the battery cage mounting tab closest to the front of the sled, or the tensioner will not run true, and will slightly side load the bearing (gold colored steel bracket). Hope this helps
