FYI- OIL LINES, WIRES, FIXED/RE-ROUTED ON 12' SLEDS

After taking an extensive look at my new pro rmk and working an an 11' model sled polaris has taken the time to re route wires and oil lines, putting protection where it is needed, glad they recognized the problem and did something about it other than denying that anything was wrong, since the 900s, dragon 800s i think polaris will do anything now to help the sport and to not tarnish their name anymore.

I also took a pic of the rubber hose that comes off the solionid for the power valves, many people were complaining that it was leaving an oily mess in their bulkheads, DO NOT PLUG!!!

oh and i just had to attach a pic of the retro scheme because there isn't many pics that i could find of one. sorry for the mess on the sled i should have taken the time to clean it off before the pic was taken.

Happy riding, hope it snows a bunch where everyone rides!

I have read on here that guys were complaining about how the line dripped a bunch of oil / sludge all over the inside if the snowmobile this is to just keep it in the line until I pull the plug to drain it or attach a small bottle to it.

have an 11, no covers for the electrical. I was aware of the main wire harness cover, but you have one over the connectors up around the wires coming from the bars. can't see this no the fiche.

any info on that cover fellas? is it just the same as the main wire harness cover?

I think most people are venting it out through the belly pan somewhere,by blocking it off it may affect the opening of the exhaust valves..

That line needs to be open to atmosphere...or else the power-valves will not function correctly.

Anyone have any info, (part numbers) on these 2 harness covers now on the 12's. If nothing else, I would like to put them on my 11, just to clean thing things up, always thought the wiring harness looked messy and unfinished. Edit: was on Polaris Microfishe, they show something looking like said covers, but shows no discreption, but a Part number of 2685075, and a price of $4.97 ea, can anyone verify if this is indeed the correct part number?

Kev, the main harness cover is listed in the parts fiche for MY12, # 2685075

can't see/find the other one though.

Thanks, I went over to the Parts fishe, and they seem to indicate that both are the same, as they show 2 needed, and same PN.

I thought the 2009-2010 iq 800's didnt have the bleeder hose? That by plugging them it opens the valves earlier??? Correct me if I'm wrong. By just saying "dont do it" without an explanation just leaves more questions....

The power valve line closes at 5800 rpm (I think did on the 900) which is the same as plugging it off. However, if plugged off it could close the valve too early or late which could create a bogg. Thus the valve spring might have to changed. SLP changed the springs on the D8s. I just cut the springs down a coil on my D8. Plugged off the hose on my 900. Have to check the Pro spring vs the D8 spring.

I have a 11 and my buddy has a 12, I noticed the difference's on the harness's and was also interested in ordering the cover's especially if there $10. Anyone order them or confirm the 2011 owners need 2 of these for $10

Thanks, Ryan

The master mechanic at my dealer told me not to plug that hose because the powervalves wouldn't work right, he also told me to make sure that it opens up in a warm place so it doesn't get iced up.
