FYI: New variable timing control system from Boondockers

Been in the works for a while now but Jarred and the guys at BD gave me the go-ahead to spill the beans on SW.

Boondocker now has a variable timing control option for all Polaris Pro Turbo kits.

This system is 100% plug and play no cutting or splicing of wires just plug in and ride. The plug and play system is variable in its design so it also adds timing on the low end for better throttle response. It also takes away timing as well as the sled ramps up on boost. In doing so they found better performance in the mid range pulling power and also allowing the user to pull more boost out of the same octane fuel that you have ran before.

Kits will be low cost as in under a 3 digit price range. First run of units will go out in 2 weeks and are sure to sell out fast then a 2nd run will go out a while after.

Note I have not tested this system yet but I will have one maybe by this weekend to demo or for sure the next weekend the nice part is I have two 162 Pro sleds setup the exact same so it will be easy to tell how it works and I will report back on this post about results once I test. This is something that is not needed for a Pro BD kit but just as always BD is always pushing the bar even higher for two stroke turbo systems.

If you have questions and availability-pricing on this unit please Email me at snowjw3090@yahoo.com

Thanks for taking the time to post this up... you have been an asset to the Polaris community and I know that there are many readers out there that you have helped even though many are not even your customers.

Keep up the good work.

x2^^^ I purchased my first turbo kit directly from Justin. He did a fantastic job and I referred 3 other friends that ended up buying from him. We all had nothing to say but good about Justin.
This spring I got a call direct from a manufacture and snow checked through them. It hasn't been as seemless as it was with Justin.
Needless to say, next time around and all future add on's will be coming direct from Justin.

Finally we are going to get somewere. When the auto industry was able to start controlling the timing in turbo vehicles the performance of the boost vehicles went through the roof. Yee ha.

I personally am tired of all the secret bs of this system.

I agree, all company's should release all of their trade secrets and remove any competitive advantage from the industry.:face-icon-small-dis:focus:

I happy to see that someone is moving forward with innovation and working to improve the turbo industry. Look at what the aftermarket has done for the diesel truck world, I'm glad they didn't stop when trucks got more complicated with EPA compliance. It took a couple years to get it all figured out but they are running great now. If you think that you are capable of doing what any of these company's are doing, without a single issue, step up to the plate and get it done. Boondocker, Areocharger, Dobeck and Dynojet are all doing great things for the industry.

Very cool, looking forward to seeing these work! I have mine cleaned up on the bottom pretty good, but you can definitely tell it is not as crisp as it was stock. I would think that being able to control timing would make cleaning up any part of the RPM range possible.

Justin, any word from Jared on how the Intercooler R&D is going?

My statement has nothing to do about a competitive advantage. Our group has three of these pros out here in eastern wa. Every time you call boondocker it is like pulling teeth to get info to make these things run. Justin at code red has been very helpful. The fact remains we bought these kits from boondocker and have tried several different things and still no fix. All I've heard is these things run fantastic but I've yet to See it. I was just on the phone with them for thirty minutes two days ago and not one word about this timing option. I am definitely no turbo kit builder but when i invest $16000.00 in new sled it should run. I wish I was closer to belgrade mt maybe then it would run.

Justin do you know if this will be a separate control box? Next year will it come with the kit? Any idea if they plan to run this option in the current fuel controller so there is only one box?

Maybe they will come out with another controller!! Good luck with your sleds I hope you get them figured out

Thanks

Thanks for all your help Justin i think we are finally getting somewhere on the three we have here i will let you know after the weekend

Ran Sat did not get my timing box so that will have to wait for hopefully this next weekend. Started at Cooke city at 8.8 lbs had the ALT COMP mode on and at the high end of the mountains the EBC was showing 9.8 to 10.2lbs of boost and 2lbs on the PTP button. Bolth sleds ran great I did have a issue with my OEM Polaris gauge going out on me on my way out on the trail so I will have to look into that?? When I turned on the Handlebar warmers it had the issue when I turned them off it would go back to normal.

The box from what Jarred at BD said is a simple plug in part maybe I can round up some pics from him to show everyone it's not a large system from what I understand.

I would like to stress that this is something that is not a MUST HAVE for your Pro sled but if your looking for more power and performance or you are pushing your octane to the limit like I am at 11-12lbs on a 50/50 mix it's going to help performance.

9-10 PSI all weekend up at Buff pass in Steamboat CO, 9-10K feet. Sled ran like a champ. Team Orange Primary spring, Black/Yellow secondary spring w/delrin and 1 shim. and 58-44.36 Helix. I ran 74G weights, but was a little off on being able to hold top RPM's, tried 70G's and they were too light. Unfortunately, Team, SLP, and all my local are shops had no 72G weights last weeK, but I think that will be the ticket. This sled is ridiculous though. I have the bottom end SHARP and it kills it in the trees.

Talked to Jr about 30 min ago he and another guy were building them so they are going to hit there 2 week time line I have not tested one yet I will ASAP I opted for a Production model to test with rather than the Proto units they were going to send me. I may be out for this weekend I have a handle-bar warmer that shorted out thus messing up my voltage regulator so wile the sled runs fine without the bar warmers on it was -17 out this AM so I may wait till the regulator comes in and warms up a touch.

low end throttle response

Hey Justin, my name is Kevin from up here in Regina, Saskatchewan. I have been reading ur posts and really appreciate the usefull info u have given out on these bd turbos for the pro.
Im curious on if u have any idea when these variable timing control boxes might be out. Do u have any feed back on the protos yet from bd? I as well would like to get my bottom end throttle response straightned out. It is pretty good now but could still be crisper in my mind.

thnx
