A recent sled magazine said to use furniture polish on the sled and is better and easier than car wax under water, ice, and snow?

Anyone have experience?

I use car wax on the painted parts (like the hood), silicone type wipe-on dressing on the straight plastic, and silicone type spray for the controls, gauges, etc.....nothing on the seat or grips of course LOL

Pledge would definetly make it shiny but I'm not sure how long it would last....

Pledge works great! Quick and easy...lasts quite a while as well. Really works great on plastics. Learned that trick back in the 70's working at a dealership.

We use it on all our mx bikes as well. Especially just before a mud race. This mud doesn't stick and falls off. Bikes are 50lbs lighter coming off the track when sprayed down well. Actually pam cooking oil really works great for that!! Pledge works well for that and helmets.

pledge x2 or 3 or. yes it works good I even use it on my full face helmets for motorcycle etc spray it on and rub away till filming gone will eliminate scratches or fill them in. works good. Carry it in my Gear bag for the 15 years.

Pledge works great to keep your sled looking good. Someone mentioned Pam spray, we use it to spray down the bottom of the running boards and the rails, keeps the snow from sticking and building up. Have been spraying horses shoes in the winter time with Pam to keep the snow from sticking and building up on the bottom of their feet in the winter if we need to keep shoes on them. Figured if it worked for that it would work on the sleds also...

Sledbrite is the only stuff to use for keeping the sled clean and looking good. They make a bunch of products that I have in the shop. My favorite is their Aluma Kleen and Metal Polish. The aluma kleen is a spray on product that rapidly eats the corossion away from the aluminum and opens it up to accept the polish. The finish is just as good as many other polishes but the time is cut down by 80%. Great stuff!!!!

Here is there website........

Old thread risen from the abyss of mass communication !!!

Just received a free bottle of DURA SHINE .... wonder since last thread WHAT WE USE TO CLEAN THE SLED?

My fellow shipmates still use SIMPLE GREEN to clean most everything in an engine room ... temps are common from 90F to 600F so I have gone back to using soap water and SIMPLE GREEN.

Pledge ROCKS!!!! I've used it for 15 years. I started out using it on my race bikes when I used to desert race. It works better than anything else on plastic........especially shiny plastic:face-icon-small-hap

I just can't get over my thoughts about the antique furniture I use with Pledge.

Does Pledge make my sled an antique?

Does it mess with vinyl skin? I'm afraid of putting products, even car wax on my sled worried that it might work its way under the vinyl skin and peel off easier. I would think pledge would seep its way under the skin even easier.
