Fuel ussage

Looking at putting an Aero-charger on my new 2013 PRO. Trying to get ideas of how many miles people are getting with the turboed sleds on a tank of gas. Do you think the same as an nat. aspirated sled or less? Thanks for any info. Pics are from yesterday ride.

They get pretty good fuel mileage still. Last few rides ive been burning about 5 gallons to my buddies 7gallons on his xm.

Heres the deal if your just riding around not in the turbo your ok but if your using that turbo your using fuel the more you use it the more fuel you use. absalutely no way around it.NO IF'S AND'S OR BUTS

I bet i cant still put on a solid 60 hard miles before empty. I pack fuel but have never used it. On my tapex 30 miles and i was on empty. Im actually really surprised how little fuel my turbo pro uses. If it came down to how far can i go in a stock sled over a turbo to make up my mind if i wanted a turbo or not. The decision would be easy.

I see your post where your running 11# most the time it sounds like and if your in it at 11 pounds most of the day your saying your fuel consumption is comparable to the same sled with no turbo?

Ive never rode my sled stock so cant compare. But my sled tubod at roughly 11# will get better mileage then my buddies xm with a can. When the snow is super deep its even better. Xm is too the bars the whole time where the turbo isnt. And usually when we stop for a break someone is always wanting to rip on the turbo. Ive never burned more then half a tank in a days ride

Fuel n ever consider silber

Fuel slightly more
Buy a silber for pro, why proven, tested, dialed in , 2000 cheaper
1000 happy owners lots of snowest feedback

Well there you have it AK pro's with turbos use very little if any more fuel than a non turbo sled. So it sounds like a no brainer get a polaris pro and turbo it and get probably extra 75 hp on the same amount of fuel. Hard to beleive but i guess it's true. Good luck.

Mine seemed to burn about a gal more per tank of fuel than when it was stock. 10# of boost at 0-2000ft.

Thanks everyone for the input. I put the 3.3 gal. Mountain Addiction spare tank on so hopefully I will have plenty of fuel for those long spring glacier rides.

You are right, comparisons alike. A pinned naturally aspirated will burn less fuel than a pinned turbo of equal displacement. But like he pointed out, if you are not pinned on the turbo, the efficiencies of boost come into play and could provide for less fuel use than a naturally aspirated sled pinned attempting to match an equal workload.

Always nice to see real world feedback.

Hmmmmm

my stock 2011 pro would run hard all day on a half of a tank. now if i run hard half a day with the turbo i will run out of gas just after lunch. i am running 11# of boost on my 2012 silber kit. tons of power but it likes fuel. tree riding i use about 1\2 to 3\4 of a tank after 4 hours of riding. hills or open fields i will use a full tank after 4 to 5 hours.

Well with Phillips recreation being a dealer in Alaska for aerocharger I would contact them and I hear they have them dialed.

I live in Fairbanks and that is who I am working with. I rode his sled yesterday and it just plain rips over my stocker. I am trying to weight all of the options. It add roughly 35+ lbs but obviously **** load more HP. I just do not want to be worried about fuel on those long sunny spring glacier rides.

strap a 5 gal can on yer tunnel and ride. Quit bellyachin and just do it. turbo it ffs. enjoy!

Ok rode today, not the greatest snow conditions so did alot of wheeling over hills and jumping. Did find some decent snow but it wasnt a stupid deep day. there was alot of wide open pulls. Anyways my fuel consumption seemed about the same as any other day when there was really deep snow. Filled up tonight and got a little over 7 mpg. So you can take that number and figure it towards your stock sled. BTW my friends XM got better fuel mileage then me today, i think it finally broke in. He got 7.42 mpg i got 7.2mpg

But like i said before when it is stupid deep, the TPro will get quite a bit better fuel mileage then the Naturally aspirated sleds. Im sure this is due to the turbo just doesnt have to work as hard during the day.
