Fuel shelf life???

YES its fine, as long as its sealed and in a steel drum it should be good for at least 4 years. Pump gas has a shorter shelf life and if its not sealed its no good after 6 months. I just finished up some 15 year old av gas with no problems.

I noticed a difference in my dirt bike after a couple of weeks. This was using 92 octane pump. I could feel and hear the difference in throttle response.

While touring the Kawasaki factory in Lincoln I asked the techs how they remove all the fuel to prevent the gas from getting stale in a bike that may sit idle for months or years. They said they use aviation fuel in the factory because it doesn't break down as fast as regular fuel. Seems the better the quality the longer the shelf life.

once you open the barrel of race fuel....say like c12 vp....how long will it last if you put the lid back on everytime after you fill your sled?

oxygen is what makes fuel go bad, fuel collects moisture out of the air,as long as its sealed, once a barrel is opened i would try and use it up within a year.
