Fuel Mileage

fuel economy

My 2011 assault 155 get between 95 and 110 miles on a 11 gallon tank. My 2007 D7 get between 120 and 135 on a tank..

Pro RMK 155.

Deep Pow, cutting trail, 6500-9000 feet. 57 miles and tank is empty.

Most days 6-7 miles per gallon. Avoiding trails like the plague.

13.5? Wow sounds pretty good. Do you have an RMK or a SB Assault? I ride mostly off trail but have mileage concerns. I am not a Mountain rider, though, so I'm pretty sure I would do better than most of these numbers in here. I'm looking to move to maybe an RMK Assault next year but I don't want to be the first one running out of gas and getting ditched in the woods running with 600 and 800 ETECs. I'm thinking carrying 2.5 gal. and the extra gal. that the Polaris holds should be enough to save me from what I am hearing here.

you hit the nail on the head, the diff. the sled holds plus 2 gal. on rear rack puts me a little better off than 800r gade and 800r summit on my 155 assault, 800 etecs i have rode with don't do much better than the 800r, most days 100 miles on a tank with some left over:face-icon-small-hap burns that little oil i now forget to check it half the time, usually top it up after 3 days of hard riding
have you had any seat time on the pro or xp? one 10 min. ride in any conditions on the pro and you will own one!

I don't ride with a lot of sleds so I've never even seen any long track Pros out on the snow. So I'm going into this a little blind, but I guess that's part of the fun. I have been riding my 2008 Renegade X 800 XP since it was new, so I have about 4500 miles seat time on an XP.

My experience with the ETECs I ride with is that they don't do that great on fuel...so given other issues I have had with Ski Doo (clutch) I'm going to try a Pro instead. Probably RMK Assault. Just not sure which track to go with.

Besides snowmobiling, I drag race. Fuel Mileage isn't of a concern with either, fun factor is. I stopped even keeping track or watching the numbers on the pump fly through the roof a long time ago.

My concerns are less about economics and more about the fact that I don't like walking. It's never a good idea to have a sled that gets worse fuel mileage than the trail boss. :)
