Fuel Economy

Got 260 or so miles on the RMK, lovin it so far, less the mileage!

What are you guys seeing out there? I'm getting like 80 miles or so a tank. Sled was broken in correctly, but have been riding lots of offtrail. Does it get better or do I need to talk to the dealer?

I don't ride trail any more than I have to, but I have been really impressed with the fuel economy. In deep snow I used to be out of gas at 60 miles on my M8, and I can get 70 on my Pro and still have 1/4 tank. My Cat buddies are always into their fuel by the end of the day, and I haven't had to add yet. Milage is all relative!

Best I've gotten mostly in the pow is 90 miles with 10.4 gals with 10-60's above 8k. Wasn't pinned all the time, lots of part throttle side hilling. Very impressed overall with fuel mileage. Haven't run with an etec. Better than all the M8's, M1000's, and 800R.

Ya if I come home on an empty tank, then it was a good day! I carry a 3 gal rotopax can and have yet to need it. I bring it just in case one of my skidoo or arctic cat buddies needs fuel:)

We had a turbo pro, tnytro, tm8 and my tapex last ride. We rode 60 hard miles. The Nytro had to use the spare 2.5 gallons off of his and the pro. Me and the cat had to use our extra 2.5 gallons and the pro didn't use any spare fuel. All came in with about 1/4 tank. So id say the pro does very well on fuel.

80 miles to a tank seems to be what I am getting. I am usually pretty tired by then.

Enjoy your new sled.

I'm feeling better now. I just went and checked, and from Sats ride I got 70 miles on with about 2 gallons left in the tank. Also to see what you guys are getting makes me feel better. I can say however I'm VERY impressed with oil consumption. 270 miles and only down about 1/3 tank.

I did have one dreaded hesitation this weekend, just for a split second tho, and only once all weekend (and I rode hard). I read that Injectors are the fix, do you think they could contribute to poor mileage? The Snowmobile.com test showed the RMK with the worst mileage out of the major 4.

I think the pro is pretty good on fuel. I ride with a e_tec bud and we are usally within 1/2 gallon. We ride about the same. Amazed at the low oil consumption on pro also. It's a sipper.

Rented a Pro and Etec on the same day went 53 miles. Mostly off trail this day maybe 10 miles on trail.

Pro 8.7 gallons used
Etec 8.6 gallons used

Looks like both these sleds on this day 6 miles to the gal.

I am amazing with the mileage I have been getting on my PRO. I still have half a tank when my buddies on XP's are using their reserve cans after running out of fuel...and I usually only fill the oil every 3 rides :face-icon-small-coo

Brother has etec, not broken in. I ride the pro. We compared fuel economy, he gets aprox 4 more miles to the gallon than I do.

I have been impressed with the fuel econ so far, and VERY impressed with the low oil consumption. From the Doo section, doesn't sound like the E-tec does much better (actually it sounds like it uses more oil and roughly the same fuel).

I originally had the blue injectors and when they went bad there was a backorder on them. Dealer got yellow ones and reflashed the ECM for the yellow injectors. Sled runs good but it's harder on fuel than it used to be. Has anyone else seen this?

My last ride was 60 miles and I just put 7 gallons in it to fill it back up.
Running 91 and ethanol plug.
That's about what its been every time so far.
Going to see what kind of difference it makes with the nonethanol plug tomorrow.
