Fuel controller questions Boondocker kit

I helped relentless rider put a used boondocker 2860 kit on an apex and he got a slightly used fastrax fuel controller for it. It seems like the controller is putting too much fuel coming off of boost and it wants to die and chugs some black smoke, if you feather the throttle it will stay running, but barely. After a few seconds of this it will idle okay. He turned the apex fuel settings to -35 and doesn't want to go any more than that. When riding the sled and messing with the settings it just doesn't seem to as smooth as it should. I am guessing that each box is made for a certain kit and maybe this box was meant for another brand of turbo kit. It sounds like Pure Logic makes a good box for BD kits. If anyone has a newer plug and play Pure logic for sale that would be great or any other info would help. Sorry long winded.

Cam timing? Does it have a headshim?

Cam timing is good. I has a shim and we ground the intake cam, it was off a tooth at first and wouldn't idle at all, but we fixed that. It just loads up coming off boost.

Is he running a second pump?? If so, check the positive and negative plug you got from boondocker. The kit he got was used and about the same age as mine was.A few kits got out of their warehouse with a plug in that was wired back wards, ya no B.S! So it will look right but be wrong, and the two pumps will fight each other under boost. I just swaped positive and negative and the sled was rocking. Have a look anyway.

He only has the stock pump on it for now...maybe we just need to play with the fuel controller more?

Fast track box ive never used, what happend to the box wes gave him? How much boost is he trying to run right now?

Do you have anyone around where you can swap out box's to double check and rule out the box. The dobek style box's really don't have that much adjustment.
