Fuel and oil tank capacities

I'm just wondering if the fuel gauge (on gas cap) and oil reservoir marks are fairly accurate. Assuming the fuel tank is 10.6 gallons and the oil reservoir is 3.3 qt. than is there roughly 5.3 gal. of fuel in the tank when the gauge shows half and is there 1.65 quarts. of oil in the oil tank when the oil level is around the 1/2 line? I know its kinda stupid question but I'm trying to figure fuel/oil ratio and have other variables to take into account so I wanna know the numbers I'm working with are fairly accurate. Anybody actually measured the capacities? Are they what the mfg. claims? BTW, what is a good fuel/oil ratio for the '02 700? 50:1 acceptable? Thanks
