FU brd inserts for the xp .. pix

Well i was out in the bottomless pow of bc this week:(. Didnt ever get a chance to bury the sled but in 2 days everytime i looked at the r boards they were clear. The setup is stiff , not much flex and has tons of traction. Id do it again. Pray for snow... ill report again. sj

So no cutting right..whats the thinking? snow wont stick to the plastic?? Where did you ride?

STEVO the openings dont look any bigger than stock board? I would like to see how they work in the deep! I always notice on my stock boards the right footweel fills up faster and his harder to stomp out.... might be the chaincase there or lack of clutch heat to soften!! who knows

Hey Tdoo and Jordo. heres the answers....
-rode owls head and crowfoot near sicamous... mostly setup snow
- lots of cutting , the teeth area has to be cutout , took mine to a guy with a plasma cutter.
- the plastic is supposed to not have snow stick to it , there are a few companies with similar material and they all seem to work.
- the openings are a lil bigger than stock.

I like sno elims and the better brd ideas too but wanted to see is the plastic idea worked. So far so good. sj

My stock '09 xp boards only get plugged up in the toe boxes - these don't look like they improve that area at all. When I have the cash it's better boards for me I think.

OK! that makes sense now.... where did you go for the plasma cutting? And do i dare ask how much all said and done the kit and cutting cost?

Well i went a lil goofy..shocker !! The bergstrom studs i used for traction were 50 buks , you could use normal sheet metal screws , the boards themselves are 140 i think and i had the cutting done at abc welding. I think they charged me 150. No matter whose brd you use there is cutting to do , just a lil more with these. A guy might be able to do it with a good blade in a jigsaw and a dozen beer.
I had sno elim on my KKat and they were good but i was still hammering frozen snow off them all the time and I really dont think the powder coated betterboards are going to be that much better , plus they are going to be scratched up bad in a year.

I was in revy for 3 days and found enuff pow to have been stuck many times ( really need that 860 !) My brds would get covered in 6 inches of snow , 2 swipes of the boot to kick it all off and the brds were clear. The r brds seem prenty stiff enuff too , didnt find any cliffs to drop off sadly;). The only gripe i have is the snow freezes on the traction screws and turns them into lil ice knobs , doesnt seem to affect footing.
Over all... I like em and would do it again !!
