Frostbite, anyone else with terrible feet have a good answer?

Thanks. I'll see a doctor when I can. Ya, it is real frostbite. I've had a couple where they didn't get it too badly. But the one last year, they hurt like crazy when they warmed up, blistered for a couple weeks, turned black, then purple, and stayed purple for months. Hurt for months constantly. It was July or August (frostbit in Dec.) before they felt ok. Had to wrap them in gauze as they could not touch anything, it sucked! This last one was not that bad, it was a couple months ago. The toe warmers hadn't warmed up completely but I thought they had, before I put them in my boots. I usually set them out for 20 mins. before use so they get warm. My toes hurt a good bit, and have purple spots on the ends, but they only blistered a tiny bit, for a couple days. Not nearly as bad as last year.

I've never frostbit my hands, just don't have that much of a problem with them. When I was younger this wasn't an issue, but I've cowboyed all my life so working outside riding in below 0 weather not worrying about my feet, that's what did it. I didn't worry then cause it wasn't an issue, frostbit them a bit and it's been a problem ever since. Same with my dad and brother, fine until that first one, then it's a constant problem. Many times I rode during winter in cowboy boots, dumb I know. But my toes were fine then.

Oh, I don't smoke. Used to chew, but I've pretty much quit. Mostly.
