Front track positioning?

Just wondering what each of the 3 front track positions are going to do to the ride of the sled. I have a 2012 assault and it was in the back top hole when I got it. I put on the z broz 36" front suspension and moved the track to the front top hole to mimic the pro but the front of the track is almost an inch off the ground. If I move it to the bottom hole is it going to make the approach angle to much? Sorry I don't know alot about this stuff and would love to learn. And my search button is not working but am sure there are posts on this already. Thank you for any info

RMK Assault rails were different than the pro, also. Tip up more, as I recall, which increased approach angle abit. 36 front is likely a culprit, too, for what you're seeing.
 
Need more information. Do you have a Switchback Assault or an RMK Assault? When you say 3 front positions, are you referring to the limiter straps?
 
It's the rmk assault. And yes I changed to th he recommended exit shocks. I am talking the three holes in the tunnel that allow you to change the front track position. I did notice on the rmk the bottom front hole was drilled and I had to drill the top front and the bottom front is not drilled on the rmk
 
OK, first of all, there are only 2 holes. If you have a third hole, someone else did that. It's not factory. Is your skid stock? The 2 stock holes are in line vertically from each other and only about 3/4" apart. Yes, you would have had to drill out the upper hole on the RMK Assault.

First question is did you re-tension the track after moving the skid to a new hole? That will make a very big difference in how the track sits on the ground.

If you move the skid to the lower hole, make certain you have the Assault rails. Otherwise, you could end up stabbing your track. The lower hole will give you a lighter front end, great for wheelies. The downside is that it'll trench more and it make the front end too wild if you're a boondocker. Raising the skid to the upper hole brings the front end down, which is great for boondocking, not great for wheelies.
