Front Stabilizer Bar

I'm thinking on removing the front stabilizer bar on my Phazer. I'm trying to increase the control or mobility of the machine for carving and cornering. Such a bar must decrease the independence of the front suspension. Why did they do that?

weight saving, good for carving but i wouldnt remove it for trail riding, like its call stabilizer bar, when one side compresses it uses the bar something like a spring it flexes and uses some of the weight from the other shock to take some of the load trying to keep both skis on the ground

A lot of guys that just mountain ride like to remove the sway bar on their sleds because it allows them to sidehill a little easier. It makes the front end totally independent but it really hurts you on the trail, in the bumps.

I rode a guys RT a couple of years ago in the spring that had the sway bar removed it was flat out dangerous on the trail, darting here and there, very unpredictable.

Gary,

If your riding it primarily on trails, keep the sway bar on.

If on the other hand your riding in the pow, or boondocking, take it off.
Agreed, unlike my 02 zx the Phazers sway bar is easy to remove and reinstall if you dont like the handleing with it off. Dino
