Front Shock replacement help!

Any advice? I am onto another project but not sure how to get to the upper bolt holding the shock in place. I see pop rivets everywhere. Do I need to drill those out to get at that area? How much do I need to take apart? I have zero experience in this category but everyone has been super helpful so anything would be great.

I am basically replacing both from shocks. I am keeping the original springs just putting in the new shock. Hopefully I am not going to need a spring holder of some sort?

Anyways thanks again!

What Sled?

On my 06 REV 800 there is a about a 1 1/4 inch plastic cap inside the front compartment just in front of the bolt that holds the upper end of the shock in place, pop this plastic cap and the bolt head is accessible with a socket from inside the front of the sled, (definitely helps to pull the pipe). The other end is held by a box end wrench.

Same hear. There is no need to drill out any rivets, just support the front end of the sled off the ground and pull the bolts. A spring compressor would be very helpful when re and reing the springs but if you have a friend to help with the retainers(for non X models) and you're strong you should be able to get away without one if you remove all of the preload on the spring.
