will a coil over moutains shock work with a wide front end from a trail machine?

On Apex the shock length's are different
Nytro they are the same

Apex/RX1 short: 16,5"
Apex/RX1 Mountain: 15,5"
Nytro RTX/XTX: 17,5"
Nytro MTX 08: 17,5" (but Yamaha recommends 16,5, hence the change for 09/10)
Nytro MTX 09/10: 16,5"

Center to center

A 16.5" shock WILL work on the Apex Mnt. you just need to shim the tie rod down 3/4" with a bushing, washers what ever and then it cycles through the full range of motion without trouble. Hope this helps....HAMMER was the first to do this on TY years ago and it worked great!
