I'm putting frogskinz side vents (screens) on my 2010 M8 and was wondering if you have to leave the heat pads on the panels and drill through them or can you just take them off entirely. Dont want the side panels to melt but will the engine put off enough heat to do so?

make shure you put some heat tape on the in side of your panels if you take it off . on the right side for shure.
You can take the insulation off of the side panels. I think theres some heat tape on the right side, just leave that there, but all of the foam comes out. I did not add any heat tape on the side panels other than what was already there and had no melting problems at all. The cold air coming in the vents prevents the side panels from getting hot and melting.
