Friend got cervical cancer in his throat!

I have known this guy for several years and knew he battled throat cancer and won. He has been cancer free for a while now. Anyway he starts telling me this week the kind of cancer and when he said "cervical" I was like WTF???? Yeah guess he was also like wtf?? until he asked his doctor "how do you get that" his doc was like.........."think about it!"

I aint bs/n here guys. Better be careful of going south of the border!!

My aunt died from breast cancer. Weird thing is that the cancer cells were in her intestines, not a single one in her breasts. I seriously doubt that she had somebody rub cancer infected boobs on her intestinal tract.

Joke all you want but cancer isn't funny. And it's also not contagious, like a cold sore or crabs. It's a disease, not a STD. If that were true, how many guys out there would have cancer on their Johnson?

He likely contracted HPV (sexually transmitted), which in turn, is what usually attributes to cervical cancer. Or in his case, throat cancer.

but no cancer is fun or funny, I have been living with cancer for 10 years, it came back once and I had to go thru the treatments all over........... everytime I get a check out its very nerve wracking till I get the results back.........So far the last 5 years are cancer free, however you are never free frome it , it just waits for you..............

Very true....once you have it, you have it for life. 2 friends in 2 years lost to cancer at young ages. My Father has weeks to live.....cancer holds no prejudice and can get anyone at anytime. I think its ok to make fun and joke about it if it is how you deal with the pain and agony and helplessness, but it is certainly no laughing matter.
Congrats on your 5 years free and I hope you enjoy many more !!!

I hate to say anything as negative as this but I have to wonder if the reason we haven't found a cure is because the treatment is far more profitable than a cure?

Those theories have been around for years. Its like the oil industries and electric cars......the people who make the most money stay on top and crush legitimate competition. God knows pharmaceuticals are where the money is.

The other theory is that cancer helps control the worlds population. 1 in 4 Canadians will die from some sort of cancer....thats a hell of a lot of people...and those are just Canadian stats !!!
