fricken thieves

well, they found the truck. Sled and gear is gone.

The truck has damage to the locks, ignition, and one tire is flat. Not sure why it would have a flat tire, maybe they hit a curb or something. Anyways, I am taking it in for a complete mechanical inspection before signing off on it.

Pretty happy to have the truck back, I always liked it and it has been pretty reliable.

Will your Home Owner's insurance cover any losses?

Glad to hear you got your truck back:beer;

Thieves got all my riding/Klim gear and a backpack full of avalanche gear, tools, gps, etc about 2 weeks ago. All total lost about $4500 worth of stuff. File a claim for your personal stuff on your homeowner's insurance. Its another deductible but your gear was probably worth more than you think.

glad to hear you got your truck back at least, one thing for sure is that there isn't many tobe helmets out there, so heads up to anyone, if you see a sledder with black/red accents helmet, compliment him on it and then ask where he got it from, there's only about a dozen of those kicking around.

here is a description of the sled. it was a late release 2003.5 rev summit. Very few of these were made and few of them had a 144 track. Most had the 151.

It is orange and black and the last 3 digits of the sn are 141 ( similar to the track length). So if you see an orange 144 rev with a 144, see if it has a 141 on the sn ethced intot he aluminum tunnel where your right knee would rest.

It has an unusual hood vent which is very clear in this picture

it has Powder pro skis with orange loops. It is also missing the stock ski-doo handlebar cover. I installed a ski-doo handlebar bag which is black and yellow.

A $1,000 reward is there for information leading to the arrest and beating of this scumbag.

Stealing a truck is one thing but stealing a mans sled is about as low as it gets. Seems like this happens alot latley . sorry about your troubles! remember Karma is a ***** and theives get a double dose!

no trailer, just the sled, loading ramps, and about 3,500 worth of gear. BTW, the sled has 4 stickers that show US registration and trail permits. Maybe the thief is too lazy to remove them. If you see an orange summit with US stickers on it, remember this thread.

Sorry about your loss Mike . I enjoyed riding with you on Monday . What the hell---Sled had no reverse anyhow . Anyway---get a new sled and come out again...

Hey, you might check and see. I think that anything that is hooked to your truck is insured as well.

Insurance will likely do nothing if the import process wasn't finalized. In Manitoba, they won't even insure you until the process is finished.
