Freestyle Backcountry - can you get at yours?

Upgrading g/f's backcountry - it works awesome but spins out easy in the soft stuff. Has anyone had any experience with a 1 3/4 or 2" track on one of these? I cant get at it right now to measure but I know last season I thought it would fit a 2". Starting to hit the sled shows but dont want to buy a track that wont fit - lol

PM Portgrinder...

Pretty sure a 1.75" will fit, not sure about a 2" unless you change drivers. You'll likely have to gear down a bit to turn the track. PM Portgrinder, or call Randy @ Motor Tech in Golden - I think both have done a 2" in a freestyle.

I have a buddy selling a BC with a 144/16/2" on it!!...otherwise the 136/16/1.75" bolts in and requires a gear down of 1 tooth-BJ

I have two 550 backcountry freestyles and yes, 16 x 1.25 came stock....

not sure with the power of these that they will turn a deep lug without gearing down... I always have to remind the kids to not get off the trail to far because they get stuck easily in the deep stuff if you don't keep your speed

Ten years ago I bought a 97' polaris SKS 500. Came with a 1.25x133 track. Replaced the track with a 1.75x136 off a 670X. It was a whole new sled. I only mention this because I think a bigger track on a freestyle would be awesome in the powder. Going from the stock 1.25 on the FS to a 1.75 would definitly be worth while if you get off trail much.

cool, thanks guys - I bought it used and I think the track was swapped out. Never thought to measure it - lol
I have seen old Phazers spin a 2" so I am sure this will do fine - A 1.75 would probably be perfect though, if I can find one.
