Fraying track?

I have an 2010 M7 with 1600 miles and I'm just starting to notice the track is fraying pretty bad on the edges. Anyways I know this is usually just normal, but my question is how to take care of the frays. I've heard of people burning them off but some people say not to do that because it could burn a hole in your track. Anyways what's the best way to go about taking care of the frays on the track?

Using a propane torch, to remove & seal the frays, is fine. Kind of like sealing a nylon rope after cutting. You're not going to burn a hole in the track unless you try really hard. Just snuff out the fires as you go.

Back in 1999 I bought a 1997 Powder Extreme. 2400 miles, one lug missing, and some moderate frays along the edges. Burned, and sealed everything up good. Sled now has over 10,000 miles. Track has not changed.

I trim off the frays and use a propane torch to clean it up. Not sure about the sealing because it came back. Maybe I need to heat it a little longer.
