Fox Floats on an RMK?

Tell me, do these look like they are on right? I think they should be mounted with the black tube up but there is not enough clearance on the shock eyelet to fit in the shock bracket without doing some grinding on the shock, as it is now there is a notch on the shock to mount in the bracket that I had to file more to get it to fit. I'm sure the shocks will work properly but what concerns me is the air valve assembly getting damage from brush, snow, etc.

Mine are the same way and no problems after a couple years. Rotate your valve to the outside and your set.

Yes, I could do that but I would have to grind on the shock to make a notch in it to fit in the upper bracket and since there was a notch already there that is why I mounted them like they are but I may do what you say as the valves are hanging out there. Thanks for the reply.

I went ahead and ground off the other side so I could turn them around and put the valve on the outside and it looks good now. BTW how much air pressure would you recomemd running in them considering most of the riding will be mountain riding?

depends on your weight and what your riding style is. I set mine to 70 lbs. But im 200 lbs and like to jump big stuff so i wanted it stiff.

40-50lbs is probably desirable for the average rider. A little more if your over 200lbs...

the nice thing about it is you can change it on the hill...

So is there any advantage or disadvantage to running the floats with the shock bodies up or down?? I currently have mine up and was wondering it matters. I have mine on my IQRacer conversion.
