I pulled the we's and installed fox float 2's.
I was suprised to weigh the we's and they weighed 3lbs a piece.
The floats also weighed 3lbs.
Bottom line
Dont waste your money on floats if you think it is going to be a weight loss.

thanks for the info, so the float evol's would actually gain weight on the sled, but i'd buy them for performance.

I believe HRP already stated this in an earlier thread about shock options and that swapping out the rear would only save a couple pounds. Certainly NOT worth it if all you're looking for is weight savings as you've stated. I'm leaning toards Exits right now but I ran Evol R's on fronts and rear last year and they flat out work with no noticeable fade. The center Float2 was a different story - faded badly so you might want to do the additional air chamber mod tho the front ski shocks have more volume so YMMV.

Have FUN!

float 2 shocks

I do like the way they feel though.
Supple and do not bottom.
I ride in wyoming in mostly powder and they have not faded.
I could see fading if you riding on a track or snowcrossing though.

Also put the Float 2's on the front. I don't think they shaved much weight (if any) but also agree that the performance is much better than the WE's. They have a soft initial rate that makes it easy to roll the sled and soak up those trail chatter bumps, but still resist bottoming on the bigger hits. I also thinked it helped the rear skid for me. I would have to carry a lot of spring load in front with the stock shocks, and then had to stiffen the rear as it would bottom very easily. When I cranked up the rear, the ride sucked and increased ski pressure. With the Floats, I was able to back the rear skid off and provide a much better ride. Rear skid will still bottom on the big stuff, so not quite done there, but the Floats on the skis are a definate improvement.

If you guys get an opportunity try to find someone with a set of Fox Evol front and back setups on the PRO. YOU CAN FEEL THE BENIES NOT JUST THE LIGHTNESS OF YOUR WALLET (benji's). No weight savings just pure felt performance. I'm really happy with the results so far and still think I can find better combos for my personal preference (still dialing what rebound settins equal what felt response for my own weight and style). It's really cool. Hammer down over stuff that kills the stockers and no bottoming. Nice balance and control so your sled stays flat but hops up super quick to plane even in deep loose snow. No gripes what so ever on these shocks. Try to TRY them!
