Fox Float 3 Evols, hit the sway bar?

My issue is

2014 pro with 39" zbroz a arms, my new float 3 evol chambers are not clocked back on the shock body like other evols that I have had my hands on.

They sit parallel to the shock body and hit the sway bar end links at droop and compression will just damage parts.

I can't physically get the link bolts in with the shock bolts installed. With out major interference. The shock kit was ordered specifically for a 11-12 pro with the 17.5" length, to match zbroz recommendation for there 39" kit.

Anyone else have the New Float 3 evols yet that have this problem?

Looks a bit different than I'm used to.

HMMM.

The ones in this pic show the EVOL chamber off to the side, not centered like yours.

Where did you buy your shocks from?

Looks like they're just mounted on the wrong sides! Switch them left to right and vice-versa.

Have FUN!

Lose the sway bar...

I had the exact same problem on my wife's ProRMK with Z-broz A-arms... I ended up pulling the sway bar, running 65 psi / 170 psi in the Evol R's.

The shocks are identical there is no kick back on the evol chamber (left specific-right specific shocks)

I got them from the boys at Nextech. See what they have to say in the morning. I have hand the shocks for a few weeks but was waiting on the Zbroz

The float 2 evols I have use a kick out on the evol chamber which does leave room for the sway bar.

Good to know; I have the Float 2 version with offset. Looks like Fox should have stuck with what works!

Cheers,

G

Can't you just run them right side up or do they hit something that way?

Problem with the R-EVOLS is the adjuster knob ...It hits the bulkhead if you try to install it that way.

No resolution from FOX they say all the Float 3 Evol will have the evol chamber straight with the body of the shock and not offset 15degrees like the gen2 evols.
??? not sure I believe this..

Running with no sway bar sound like an option yes but with a 17.5" shock and zbroz the front of the damn sled sits higher then the IQR racer, once you add some extra pressure. That was not the idea with running these shocks.
Really disappointing. If this was the case I would have gone with a shorter 17" shock being unable to run a sway bar.

Anyone have any word on Raptors turn around time once ordering? I called everyday last week and left several messages with Jake but no one ever calls back. So I am not sure I want to support that company either. :face-icon-small-dis

Removing the sway bar like I said is not an option. Like I said the shocks need to be ran with so much air pressure without a sway bar to keep the skis on the snow. The front suspension was not designed to be ran without it. The ski pressure gets excessive. The weight of the sled all ends up sitting on the skis not distributed through the front and rear suspension. No sway bar makes the PRO dart everywhere because the ski pressure is so high. Add the fact that the front end sits much to high with a 17.5"shock and zbroz and it just make the instability worse.

Run your pro without your sway bar and tell be what you think?

If I was a 100% mountain rider yes no sway bar no issues, I probably should be riding an assault but I am not. Running a 17 1/2" shock with zbroz the front bumper of my sled at 23" with me sitting on it. Much to high. The extra length of the shocks I believe to be whats causing the interference, between the evol chamber and the sway bar link. The width starts getting narrower as the a arms start coming under the sled with such a long shock. The magic number is 17 1/8" shock length for the zbroz according to Nate. If my Float 3s were shorter I am positive they would clear as there is only contact at full droop. And honestly the ball joints are at there max travel at droop right now.

On order Raptors 17 1/8" problem solved

I was able to return the shocks for a full refund. But I do have a set of signature series rear fox float3s for sale if anyone is interested brand new and back in the box installed but never driven on.
