They were found by a small group of riders looking for them, I don't think SAR has the equipment to get in there. Hopefully they can post the details for others to learn from.

The SAR Sherriff told me that the chopper that was being called in to look for them could pick up the signal from the avalanche beacon. We were sitting on Van Epps pass when the chopper was communicating back and forth with the Sheriff about this.
I know that one of the guys that dropped in to find them was on that Mod purple tunnel Ski-Doo. Later talking to him, he said the it was very deep down where they were at.
Great news they were found ok.
Guy on the purple tunnel sled named Buck?
there is something to be learned from this and I have learned it also DON"T FOLLOW TODD!!!:

Actually Mike, not following me was the problem, couple of the guys were convinced we were on the right ridge to drop out to the Fish Lake road. Obviously not the case.
By the time it was clear that we were headed the wrong direction the clouds blew in as well as the dark. One in our party was having fatigue and hip issues and another had an asthma attack and had left his inhaler in the truck.
So we decided to dig in, start a fire, and wait until morning to turn around and head out. Not lost, just turned around and no way to contact the outside world. (Ordered a sat phone this morning)
Words of advice would be to think about spending the night on the mountain and what you would need to survive. No matter how good the rider or their knowledge of the terrain, a simple mechanical failure or other issue could leave you stranded. Thank god a few of us were prepared.
I have been riding 40 of my 43 years and this is the first snow camping event I have encountered and hopefully my last.
Thanks to Kenny, Don, and Dave as well as the rest of the peeps looking for us yesterday. We owe you guys some gas.
