Found a good deal on Havoc bib's

Are they in business?!

I can't process an order from their website and no one answers their phone.....says to leave a message.

Typical some big company limits the price sellers can sell their stock at, Sitka does the same thing, you can only put it on sale if it's a non current year. Maybe Klim has the same idea.

So true, gotta love it when companies engage in anti competitive actives such as setting floor pricing for retailers with threat of loosing a line if they do not conform. I was dealing with a vendor on a rekluse clutch he said they do the same, will pull from his store if they know he lowers the price.

Such BS

actually its really important that guys stick to the MAP policy. They exist for a reason.

all dealers buy stock at the same level(or close to it), so joe blow descides hes gonna blow his inventory out at only 5% over his cost because hes trying to get some sales. well, problem is, he doesn't make any freakin money at it and it basically forces everyone to sell that low or not sell anything. If you don't maintain this policy, then its basically impossible for anyone to handle the **** besides someone who is massive retailer who can have that sort of overhead. It makes it impossible for any sort of small shop to even stock gear, let alone sell it.

Making a buck in the sledding industry isn't easy. I know stuff isnt cheap but you cant survive retailing at 5-10% over cost. hell, even 30-40% takes some serious volume to cover overhead let alone come out ahead. and really hard to pay a good knowledgeable staff a decent wage. if you want cheap, no customer service, low margin product, go buy stuff at walmart.

With the evolution of online purchasing and cheap shipping, without a MAP policy, there is no purpose for dealers, only manufacturer direct. As there is NO incentive to try and retail **** when someone like amazon could buy the whole years inventory from a MFG and sell it at 10% over cost as with that volume they can handle the low margin. Want to try gear on? To bad, buy it online from the mega retailer because nobody wants to compete.

end rant.
