fouled plugs on 600 efi crossfire

Just got an 06 crossfire 600.

The pto side plug fouls if you dont keep the revs HIGH! and i dont dar let it sit to take a pee on the trail. What would couse this on the efi

These laydown efi's are going to take some learning and getting used to compared to my polaris's

Is this common?

First guess is check your fuel pressure. Might need your dealer to do this. If he won't help you, find another dealer. Also is the other side rich also, or ok?

I haven't checked the fuel pressure because I'm going to try to fix it myself before I take it to the dealer. And yes the other side is also a little rich but doesnt foul the plug out. I checked the compression today and both sides where at 138, does that sound ok? My dad thinks its the injectors or carbon build up on the exhuast ports. 87 octane is the highest I can get here, is that causing my problems? Sorry for all the questions I'm 14 and I'm good with motors but don't know a whole lot about EFI sleds. Thanks.

87 octane is what you should be running. You can check fuel pressure yourself, but you need an accurate gauge...and they cost money. If the fuel pressure is high, you need to spend some money to fix it anyway. The best way is a variable regulator mod.

One idea, if you have more time than money, would be to borrow a regulator, or buy a used one (any efi firecat fuel pump regulator will work), and see if that fixes it. The regulator is in the fuel pump, in the tank. You will need most of the fuel out of it. Be carefull, working on your fuel system, leaks are really bad and cat uses cheep fuel line on these...gasoline really likes to burn...ask me how I know.

My 06 CF600 was pig pig rich but it didn't foul plugs. They were black but not "fouled". I had the oil turned back and they are a nice light chocolate brown now. I know guys that are running fuel regulators as well.
