The 4CS forks are a huge challenge for snow bikes. They blow out the top adjusters because of failed seals inside, and take VERY HEAVY springs to combat the free flowing valving from the factory. A snow bike set up with custom springs and valving is in the $700 range. You will hate this valving for the dirt if you try and put the stock weight springs back in for summer. We have built many "second set" forks for 4CS owners.
I recommend keeping your 4CS's for dirt the way they are, and having us build a second set of twin chamber forks for your snow bike. Our custom snow bike valving and springs that we have developed with Factory Connection is by far the best solution for the 4CS game.
You will spend around $1200 for the extra set of forks all set up with custom valving and springs, but if you smoke a rock and damage a fork tube, it is on a spare set, and not on your expensive 4CS's.
Give us a ring to get a set built.
I'm facing this same problem. I have a 16 FC 450 with 4CS forks and a set of 65kg spring not yet installed, swapping springs out between seasons is not a big deal but revalving from mx to snow is.
What twin chamber fork are you setting up for snow?
I was thinking the Kayaba SSS off a YZF would make a good set of winter forks.
