Rabbit Ears:
RE Forest Service requires 1 foot of packed base under tracks at all times.
In response to heavy/mixed use/snowcat operations: Daily or Season Permits are required for any use (ski, sled, all travellers) of Buff Pass area. Daily passes are available at trail head, season passes are available in forest service colorado springs office.
There are total mandatory winter closures of a few sled spots, for elk migration. Some of the areas include: Mag creek/Spring creek/ Red Dirt (waiting on forest service map, will share further details if/when received).
Vail: Snowmobiling permitted Nov 15 2017 - May 20 2018; 1 foot of packed snow under machine also required
Grand Mesa: 1 foot of packed snow base under tracks at all times.
Snowy Range WYO: 1 foot of packed base under tracks at all times.
