ford f250 4x4

Not sure what year you are talking about, but when I changed ball joints on my 02 the axle just pulled out.

It has a c-clip. The quickest way (but tends to get a lil fire going) is to cut the center of the joint out with a torch, pound the caps out and install new joint with a c-clamp. Saves you from having to pull driver side apart and trying to wrestle the drop out section with that stub axle attached to it.

It should just slide out. It is a full floating set up. Shocker is wrong.

Ummm, if it has a INNER joint AND a outer joint on the right hand side it is NOT a "full floating" set-up as you seem to think and it does have a c-clip. Therefore it does not just "slide out". The style that slides out are a single joint and do not have a inner joint as he stated, therefore i am right.
