For Those Worried about their Belt Drive.

Im not going to argue that the belt drive will fail, because I dont think there will be many problems if any. But remember those are paid riders for Polaris and they arent going to go on camera and talk bad about Polaris.

Yes .You wont ever see a sled failure in a Vid.

Their working assumption seems to be that the belt drive is weaker than a chain drive, just by virtue of discussing that they think it will hold up.

I disagree. I think the fact that they are discussing it means that there is question among consumers as it is a new product, not that they necessarily think it is weaker than a chaincase. Chain has been around on sleds for what 100 years so why would these guys make a video saying that they don't think the chain is that likely to fail? Also Jared is not paid or affiliated anymore with polaris than any of the other manufacturers so his opinion after extensive testing on these sleds under boost is of value I believe. Now Chris on the other hand has his paycheck signed by polaris so he is obviously not going to come out and say that there is a problem. However, I also doubt he would come out and say there is not a problem if there was because he is going to lose credibility. I never heard Rasmussen last year say that the Proclimbs didn't have a belt issue but he also didn't say they did. In those situations I think the Paid riders just keep silent and out of it to avoid any loss in credibility. That's my opinion anyway.

drive shaft!

I personally think the belt drive will stand up . I am Way more concerned about the new 3 piece aluminum hollow glued together Drive shaft !! come unglued lol!

Of course jared sessions wouldn't say anything bad about a sled under boost...Boondocker turbos ring a bell? he wouldn't want to jeopardize anything from their company either. Not saying theres a problem but people are right they are paid by Polaris or Boondockers your not going to release bad info on a product and hurt your sales. Not looking for an argument just stating something :) I don't think theres gonna be a problem people always blow everything out of proportion on snowest.

You have to break the belt in properly as well just like a drive belt. Take it easy for the first100 miles, no long WOT pulls. And then ride it like you stole it!

Another important thing to remember is keep your sled clear of any debris under the hood. For example when you install your skid plate remove all the drilled out rivet pieces. They will cause havoc on the belt..

Yep, and Chris Burandt would advocate riding with a pair of depends if they wrote him a sponsor check......

"Depends, cushions your *** on the big drops and saves you the time to stop and take a **** so you can ride all day"...
Burandt approved!
:)

if Burandt said so then it must be fact.LOL when did he become an engineer?

BTW CMX belt drives have the brake on the lower shaft as it should be and a tensioner . these are two HUGE differences that will make a HUGE difference in longevity of the belt.
