For those snowchecking, which warranty package did you go with?

That's what I read. That sounds like it could go either way, but I'm guessing it's after pick-up and signing the contract after credit approval. Otherwise I may not even be qualified and they could start tacking on interest even before the sled shows up to the dealer. I'm still gonna ask them about that again.

Did you know that the 12mo same as cash starts now and not when you pick it up? Read the fine print and it was confusing so I asked the question and found that it is actually less than 6 moths after pick up.

Anyway, I went for the silver 163 and I am all over the 4 year warranty! I have used up $4,700.00 of Polaris's $$ on my 2009 now. :face-icon-small-hap

Dub its from date of purchase(when you take the sled from dealership and sign the final contract)..then 12 months from that date...

Just confirmed with my dealer- 12 months starts when you pick up and arrange financing. That's what I was hoping he'd say.

Just offering what I have been told after dealer called for confirmation!

If you have a sales guy that "thinks" he knows he may be wrong?

If you have a guy that actually knows then I am wrong!:face-icon-small-hap

Understood. People make mistakes. My guy is from Carl's Cycle. I would say they are more "informed" than the average dealer.

maybe they have changed it but I have bought 3 from polaris on the 12 month deal and they all started when I picked the sled up and signed the papers...if thats the case that it starts when you check it..I wouldnt do it....most banks give a better rate then polaris does on their standard deal..

Hate to keep beating this to death but....

When I SC my sled and put down the $500.00 they issued me a bill of sale. That in my eyes is a purchase agreement, therfore couldn't they start terms at this point?

I think you just have a reciept showing you have put down a non refundable $$ amount with the intent to purchase the sled. Your "purchase" reciept at the time you pay for or make the aggreement (loan) to pay for should be when it starts. That reciept will have your vin number and everything on it. Right now there is no vin number even available.

also your not required to make any more payments until machine is in your possesion..at which time you will sign a loan contract...and start the payment schedule...

Doesn't sound like that great of a deal to me.

"On approved Polaris StarCard purchases. Periodic monthly payments required. No interest charges for 12 months. Thereafter 18.99% APR effective until purchase is paid in full, as long as your account is kept current......For accounts not current, the promotion is cancelled, and the penalty rate of 28.99% APR applies.....

I think I'll stick with Sheffeild Financing (usually around 7.5%)

You gotta pay it off before all that ugliness ensues!

Look at it this way: You go with your financing at 7.5%, and I will go with the 0% for 12 months. If you do jsut 500 down like me, your payments will be about 250 for 48 months or 330 for 36 months....lets jsut say a even 300 each month for both of us...during the first yr, you pay abotu 500 in interest. I on the other hand will pay 0 to interest, about 3600 to PRINCIPLE...then at the end of that 12 months I will now refinance at a lower rate then what polaris is offereing. And will have lower payments and owe way less......jsut my $.02

That money you are saving in interest could be goin to something else I dont know about you but saving 600 bucks in one yr, 50x12

Pretty sure I'm going to trade the 700 off for a new 800. Just trying to figure out if I want the 4 year bumper to bumper, or take the 2nd year powertrain warranty with the $700 in accessories etc. What is everyone else doing?

I'm kinda figuring if I can make it through the first year without any problems, then I likely won't have to many in the future. Jesse.

I went with the 2yr +700 in accessories. Then buying an aftermarket 5yr warranty thru my dealer for 700 bucks... can't wait until fall!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand your math, but there is one tiny flaw in your thinking. Please tell me I'm wrong but, I can't seem to find a bank willing to deal with used snowmobiles other than if you were to purchase used from a dealer. Is there a bank around that will refinance?
