Fogging the motor inside andddddd OUT

I have a question would it be a good idea to put fogging oil all over the outside of the motor and possibly the rails and suspension components to prevent rust and corrosion your info would be appreciated :) thanks!

WD-40 attracts water and leaves a really hard residue when it dries out. There is a product called Ballistol that works great for corrosion protection. I hate that white corrosion you get from aluminum, especially after road salt goes to work. Ballistol is safe for rubber, plastic etc so any over spray isn't going to hurt anything. Pretty amazing product, has hundreds of uses from guns to shoes to surgery. In the US you can't make claims about anything medicinal but if you go to the UK site for Ballistol they lay it all out.
