FNI Air Intake Problems

Hello fellow riders. I just purchased a new Fire N Ice intake assembly for my 2006 Polaris 700 (755) Rmk including the offset hoses that FNI sells to move the airbox away from the exhuast pipe. Problem: I went out for the first time this 2009/2010 season and the sled ran fine. About halfway through the day the sled started to bog down as i gave the machine throttle to the point of where it would almost flood out. I checked plugs and other possible areas of problems. I finally found out that the two FNI hoses had become disconnected from the CFI throttle body intakes. This allowed, i presume, warm air from the engine into the throttle bodies causing the motor to run rich. When i tried to reattach them and tighten down the clamps, the hoses would pop off again. I tried torqueing the clamps but they would just slip off the air intake assembly. Question is: Has anybody else had this problem and if so what did you do to keep the hoses attached to the throttle bodies?

I saw the same thing. The clamps that Paul sent me with the kit were wider than the stock clamps and that caused the boots to pull off when tightened down.I just used the narrow stock clamps on the throttle bodies and made sure everything was tight against them when tightened down. They have not come off since.

had same issue on mine..but i didnt get the the FNI boots, just made my own..

use the smaller clamps from the original boots..the boots have to be perfectly flush againist the throttle bodies when you tighten them or they will slip off for sure..

i also use a piece of rubber (4"x6", 1/4" thick) on top of the boost box and shove it between the boost box and the front cross member...this way the airbox does not vibrate with the motor...it stays put and wont cause the airbox ro move..

(then heat tape the peice of rubber to the boost box)
