Anybody been riding on the flattops yet? Looks like they have been getting snow. Thinking about heading up this weekend.

let us know how it is. i looked at the snotel @ bison lake and it was showing 15". i've never rode the flatops, is bison lake anywhere near where you ride up there?

i doubt its even rideable now that its been sunny and fairly warm for over a week with trucks driving up the road, ruts, etc. Might be fun on an ATV! Zero snow in the forecast for quite a while unfortunately.

Bison lake is fairly close to were I ride, went up for a quick rode ride out of cline top road. Went to Blair mtn about 18 inches on top. We need Snow!

not enough yet

We went up on the flat tops today did not dare to get off the road, about 18" on top is all. Did manage to put 40 miles on new 1100 turbo, looks like i have to learn to ride all over, but was fun. Good news is it is snowing right now...

We had good snow in all this area this week. There is 3 to 4 feet now at Coulter Mesa. We had a foot of new snow at the Coulter Lake Guest Ranch this week and we are at 8100 feet. Should be a good weekend from Triangle Park to Blair!

always take tape with you sledding

Want to thank some sledders who stopped and helped us out of a bind. Wife had hit a rock that threw her over the windshield and on the way over broke the throttle in 3 pieces. Was able to tape it back together enough to get back home, thanks again. P.S. Wife is repacking our safety gear right now, with tape.... Snow was about 3 feet deep on top and ( most ) of the rocks covered..

Looks deep Sam. How's the coverage? RE was good Tue but I still went over a couple stumps and saw a nasty rock sticking up that someone nailed. It's good but we need another couple dumps to be great.

Duke, we can ride the Flat tops when Bison shows 42" and be pretty safe, especially now that it has settled. Over towards Blair in the canyons there is some real nice snow. Not many people ride in the area. Most people just stay near Meadow Lake and such. The Mesa needs another good storm to be safe. It is just too alluring right now to go and "bang" it hard on the Mesa. The rocks on the Mesa are brutal, where as the Tops have far fewer land mines. Haha.

We need to try and hook up with you and James and Book again. :face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

I was just mentioning to Donnie this weekend that I really wanted to plan another trip down to Irwin and it would be great to meet up with you guys. Let's plan it...

Thanks for the update and the pics Sam. The FT's are my old backyard and can't wait to get up there in a couple weeks.

Definitely. I kinda jacked my knee Tuesday on the tops. They drained about a pint of blood out of it yesterday. I'll be back in the game in a couple of weeks though. We'll be in touch.

sswim was that you down by Blair tuesday? We dropped in from elk lakes and saw a couple guys dropping off of Blair. The snow is great on the flattops.

Yea we came in from Blair. You were just leaving as we were dropping in. I assume it was you anyway.
