I wonder why?

wonder why you didn't find it or why they don't work at elevation?

They don't work at elevation because of surface pressure on the screen. The higher up you go the "thinner" the air gets, the less surface pressure you have. Thats why the Plasmas get louder the higher you go and produce more heat the higher you go. There are a few models I've seen that actually half way work up here at 7,000 but not many.

That USED to be a problem but it has been corrected for the most part now.

Pioneer guarantees that their Plasmas will work up to like 15,000 feet.
