FIX brake in

Today i put on 53 miles in sw Montana on new Fix fit with PA head i noticed a bog at low rpm but it dose not happen if i feather the gas only when being really easy on it at about 4800 to 5000. Just worried about the brake in any help would be great

With no other information to go on my gut feeling says air leak. I'm assuming it ran fine before the "fix"?

This sled has had a total of 6 top ends the last 2 had the pcv on. The last motor lasted 3 rides so i brought it to PMS to have them put on there FIX got rid of pcv and running 08 fuel map

See if you can find a test area to take some plug readings. hold at specific throttle settings and chop (Slight up hills I find to be the best - kill the engine) then have a look at the plugs. Post some pics of the plug. You could also try adding some fuel to the pc5 in the areas you suspect and see how it runs. FYI - I'd run non eth gas if you can get it. Diag by web is a bit like throwing darts but people on here can be a huge help.

Thanks, i was running non eth 91 but i think the elevation might have low for the head. I looked at the plugs all day they were golden brown and dry i was expecting to be going through plugs with the pre mix

also the pcv has been replaced with the 08 map but should i be worried about the mid lean spot. I have no map for the pcv with this set up .

i spent a week in the snowies breaking in the fix kit over new years. I have the 08 flash and head. I ran extra oil in the gas tank plus I ran one of dynotech's map on my pcv and found that I was still a little bit lean when checking plugs. These sled's do not all run the same. If one solution works on one sled it doesn't mean it is going to work on another sled. for some reason my sled always seems to run lean. i am hoping to run an auto tune my next trip to try and get this thin dialed in. I am very happy with the fix and have approx.. 400 miles. My sled has never ran better .

Good luck

Try running with the power valve hose hooked back up. Alot of guys on here have done that with good success but when I try'd it I had the same symptoms as you did

I am ALSO happy with the fix just paranoid i need more miles.do you think pcv is the way to go with this for longevity and performance

IMO there are 3 must haves for an 800 Dragon if your looking for reliability and perf.

#1 The “fix kit”
#2 PC5/3
#3 A spare regulator.

I have a 09 800 dragon with Fix Kit, SLP 13.2-1 Head, SLP single pipe/can, PC5 & 08 Flash (There are a few and you should go with the one that Swan @ PMS uses). I had a little stumble in the mid range also. I added 1-4% in the mid range to make it run grear. I would wire a switch to the PC5 so you can load two maps and switch between them. If you PM me I can email you the PC5 file.

Jeff,

Are you running two PCV maps with a switch? Sent Shawn a map last month and he was talking about running it on the dyno to see which map was best. Any idea if the current PMS map was tuned on the dyno?

AK,

I have a small toggle switch under the hood wired to the PC5. I do have two maps loaded. One for long hill climbs and one for boondockin. I had my local dealer load the 08 flash that Swan told me to use. I don't know if he would want me to give the part number on the forum? After running with a empty PC5 (all zeros) I had a some stumble in the mid range. I also was fouling plugs at iddle. I made up my own PC5 map with -2% around idle and +2 to +4% around the mid range. The PC5 Map Swan gave me was tuined for a Bikeman pipe and had noo fuel correction for the mid range.

fix kit

I am also running the fix kit. I have a full slp exhaust pcv with curts custom map from fast trax. And curts clutch kit from fast trax and my sled pulls like hell absolutely no bog at all and believe me if it was lean it would have blown up yesterday I was thrashing it all day snoqualmie got dumped on last week so I was breaking trail all day!!!!!! My best track speed breaking trail was 45 mph on a 163 track. call curt at fast traxs he's the man!!!!
