Getting back into fishing this year with the wife(turns out she likes it) and I need to "give" her my old reel. So I am is search of a decent spinning reel.

Looking for a mid range price. Was hoping for some tips and also any good websites to check out for deals.

this is a decent reel, I like the quickfires

I don't like using my left hand to find the string, flip the bail and all that junk..with the quickfire your almost as fast as a baitcaster, not quite but for the normal fisher dude who cares if your half a second longer per cast. At least your only using one hand and not flipping the rod from hand to hand.

This year I went with a G loomis (made in China :( ) and I like it

G-Loomis rod and a Stradic = only way to fly.

Or.... A throne brothers G loomis steel custom 8'6 xh with a shimano trinidad 16n 120lb braid on it:beer;

Oh wait he said spinning.... Musky opener this weekend has got me thinking so one sided:D

Yes.. definatly go g-loomis and shimano... Its a great combo..

When you get a loomis make sure they are a return dealer also.. Like our local scheels store here.. you can take the damn thing in the parking lot.. break it.. take it back it.. get a new one for $0.. :D...

i won't even start on my gear but it is more then my xp was. it's all G loomis fenwick shimano and abu garcia. abot 25 set ups worth
