First time snowmobiling in Minnesota

I don't understand why you would go east from Nebraska and not west. I grew up riding the north shore and the U.P mich and none hold a candle to the mtns. I just started riding out west myself three years ago and would not waste a trip east if you are starting that far west, any one who opposed probably has not ridden the mountains

i go east because its almost half the price. one trip east and one trip west per year for me, thats all i can afford. i will agree with you on riding out west is the the best. love it out west

They're right but.........

When I can't go West I find fun in.......Running rivers that are not fully frozen, bouncing through swamps with creekbeds cut in them. Powerline swaths with deep revines. Or just plain exploring. You make your fun where you can. I can't go West that much, but I still ride a mountain sled. With a mountain sled you can see things most trail riders don't even know exist.
We had a couple of great rides last year. One on Dec 26th on the upper reaches of the Cloquet river. Nice snow over slush. I don't think there was any ice , or so it seemed. Two M-8's. You'd slow down til you started to drop thu, then pin it. Roost a water spout, do a big wheely, then plain the jetski out. Carving figure eights and jumping sand bars. How could you have any more fun than that?

Then late in the year we had a great ride North of Isabella. Following flowages from one lake to another. Yes, there' some water skipping involved. It kinda' makes you feel like you have super powers.

I'd like that very much.........

It's getting a little hard to get my King Cat stuck. Ya know 200 hp 1000cc mod. with a 162'' x 2.5'' Challanger Extreme seems to get out of most places.
But please try.

I live in MN and usually go up by Leach Lake. they have a good trail system up there and some nice resorts. My buddy has a condo at a resort there...can't remember the name but its got pool, hotub, sauna and steamroom. Makes for a nice place to go ice fish or get drunk (or both) when the trails aren't that great. Plus there is a casino pretty close by. You should know that the trails get worn pretty fast there and sometimes it isn't really worth taking the sleds off the trailer except to pull a fish house out onto the lake. When there is new snow its a blast to ride the trails though. The big one that goes around Leach is like a highway...you can cruise it wide open if there isn't too much traffic.
