First Ride/Ride Report: Ski-Doo 600 E-Tec XP

5000 miles on a gallon of oil---LMAO--I talked to 2 Doo reps at different times and they said 800 to 1200 miles to a tank (Gallon).

As for as quite as a 4 stroke---You ain't a kidding--man that sled is quite!! Kinda sounds wrong to me;)

H20SKE...

well, thats a step in the right direction, none the less.

whats a 800 get per tank? 80? 100 miles? maybe more for a trail rider.

~1000 miles / tank is still going to save a ton in oil...

i can tell you one thing, i definately don't mind NOT dumping so much $ in oil and having to fill it every ride anymore...
i think DI is a very positive direction for Rotax/BRP.
and like any new engine tech it will take time / years for them to hammer out the 'details' or bugs..
specially since BRP is involved. lol

Nice to see the ETecs working decently. Hopefully we will have this technology on all sleds soon. But I wonder whats wrong with the 05 800 though if its getting beat by a 110hp sled.

How much snow is in the parking lot at the Willow Creek? I would love to make a trip up there, havent rode there since Jackson Hillclimb.

rode my etec last week. Got great mileage and use hardly any oil. O.K., there is no snow here, so I just did some wheelies with it across my neighbors yard! It seems to pull hard though.....snows coming this weekend so maybe next week I'll get some miles on it.

So you guys don't have any break-in period on them? The one's BRP sent me all have a 6hr break-in chip. Crappy running 600 till it breaks in, then they work like they should.

Just got back from my first ride of the 08-09 season.
We rode up Willow Creek WY.
Snow conditions were good once we got up high.
I'd say 3 feet base with 8-9 in. of fluff.
8K-9K ft. elavation.

Sled:
Good
-Way light!
-Super easy to carve, sidehill etc...
-Strong, good power for a 600 ( Definatley surprised me )
-Climbed great for a 600
-FAST!
-20 MPG

Bad:
Absolutely Nothing!

Clicker was on #3
No Belt problems at all
Handwarmers worked great

I have 27.4 Miles on it so far and LOVIN it!

P.S Who else has a 600 E-Tec?

Snowchecked the wife a new X 154 600 E-tec still sitting in the trailer, NO snow to ride :( Can't wait to get her out with it and put some miles on :D

What track length are you running? Keep us posted on you future rides! :)

Mike, Im running a 146 Powdermax under it.
I'll definatley keep you posted. Im gonna try another ride for this weekend.
Dont have anyone to go with though?
Anyone in Star Valley area?

The dealer told me for break in to not hold it open for more then like 15-20 seconds. I tried not to, but I dont think I did to bad.

On my 800 it took something like 100 miles to fully break it in. Then it really woke up.

15-20 seconds for your first ride? Wow, your dealer must like doing warranty work. Wow.

That's funny. Your a racer, what's your service manual say? Mine says 6hrs and the break-in chip is toast. Been that way for every one we sold so far this year.
800's aren't the same.
