First Ride on the 15 wide Extreme

Okay, seriously, it's awesome. My stock 154(51 lbs) came off and the 15x156x2.5(unported-53lbs) went on yesterday. I didn't get to ride them as close together as I wanted, so the comparision isn't NASA quality, but that's life. This track will HOOK UP:face-icon-small-ton. Crazy traction in a foot of soft snow on a 3-4 base. I had no idea that the front of my sled was so purdy:face-icon-small-win. The first thing I noticed was the "squirrelyness" of the sled. My riding is done at 30 mph, blazing trees, meadows, hills, bumps, etc. The sled is noticeably easier to move around "on the track". Surfability is way up, as it should be with less rubber on the ground. For me and my style, it's perfect. For those of you who have done the swap to 2.5 lug, you can appreciate this tracks "never give up" attitude. It mated up very nicely with the 860R. I suspect the boyz at HOLZ went with a 15" wide for the same reason:rolleyes:

Is that your sled in your Avatar? If so, I knew you would. I won't put a 16 under a Doo again-and if I buy a new Dooski, the 16 will be the first thing to go:face-icon-small-ton

Its amazing how much difference an inch will make. I think its interesting that skidoo still goes with a 16 wide while the other three have stuck with the 15.

Got my 15" power claw under mine, waiting for a couple axle parts then I'm going riding. I've got a couple clearance areas that make my tummy hurt wondering if it's gonna work but I'll know soon enough. How are the Snowies Trinity? We're still bony in Island Park.

The Snowies should get a foot or two today-they need it. There is a 4' base in some spots, but 2-3 for most of it. I think you will love the 15 wide. It made as big a difference, or more, in changing the "character" of my sled as any other mod. Amazing. Lost some float, but gained traction with the 2.5, and she surfs AWESOME now! Give us a report on that Claw, Revpilot.:beer;

If I went today I could report on how well it throws rocks at the jeepsters and 4 wheelers:face-icon-small-sad. I may have to take my skis off and bolt tires on.

What sled are you having clearance issues on with the powerclaw track? I was thinking of trying one on my xp.

06 Rev, my clearance issues are from changing from 10 tooth 2.5 pitch to 8 tooth 3.0 pitch and going up a quarter inch on my paddles. I'm within an eight of where I was but I'm an eighth over and I'd rather be an eighth under.

Trinitypowder, any chance you are going to the Northern Utah Doo Talk ride end of january? It would be interesting to get your 860 BJ kit 2.5 camo out against my 860 RKT with cat power claw and compare.

hey Tpower if you and Madmax are gonna have a 860 shoot out then I want in. Lets make it threeway dragrace. I'd be willing to bet a couple nights of drinking on my Holz 860 kit.:beer;:D
