First ride on my 2016 YZ 450 FX and TS ST am i down on power

at 8k ft, pulling 3rd on 450FX will be a challenge. Too much jump between 2nd and 3rd with that gear box, and your a bigger guy. Unless you add power, 3rd probably won't happen too often in a climb asking for full revs.

Has anyone tried going up a couple teeth on the bottom gear,i maybe i'm over thinking this but if i gear down to try and make third gear more usable i'm risking making second useless. anyone with real world experience with trying this

running

I have run 16 20.......too low for my ktm 500 xcw

Now running 16 18 way better. 13 17 primary 16 18 chain case 7 tooth 3.0 drivers = 13.5 track run out

At 8,000+ ft you could run the timing at +7 across the board and not have any issues with detonation. We run our YZ450F's at +4 timing and -5 fuel and ride at 8000-10,000ft. We also run a more open exhaust. One bike has FMF with the quiet insert and the other and FMF with no insert at all. Both bikes run better, but the bike with the more open exhaust runs a lot stronger.

is this the full exhaust or just the slip on
