Ok so I got the 9 out and put a few miles on. riding at 6k feet 2 ft of sticky powder. Temp gauge reading up to 144 would drop to 120 sometimes. cooler feels warm coolant boils out. I have removed radiator last year ran it alot and had no issues. Could temp sensor be bad, radiator cap? head orings? Not sure where to start. It was around 40 degrees. I might start by bleeding coolant system. Any expert advise. Only thing different is I no longer have shock tower vents. Got warm enough to melt zip tie holding wire harness to the hood.

coolant boiling out is not a good sign but it could be you have a bad cap or the neck of your coolant bottle is messed up and the cap don't seal correctly. try to get the air purged from the system and have your cap tested it should hold 13 psi.

144 isn't too hot so it shouldn't be boiling. are you loosing any coolant?

if it is boiling and you are loosing coolant you may have taken out a head o-ring pretty easy to change with engine in sled.
