First ride after re-build

First ride went really good. Sled runs great and pulls like a B****!! RPM was spot on and it seemedn to pull a lot harder than before the torque arm/stop. I didn' think that and a balanced clutch would change the performance so much. Thanks to all the guys on here for the help. I did have a problem with my sway bar falling out. Has anyone had this problem? I might just pull it off since it was hanging down most of the day anyway and I didn't see much of a difference in the steering. Just a little harder on hardpack and it seemed to dart around a bit. Might be bent too. Added a picture of my friends 600. Great little sled with quite a bit of power for a 600. Needs a clutch and can and he'll be set.:beer;:beer;

cool glad you could get out and ride. and yes the 9 do pull awesome. took my 975 for a test yesterday and it is finally running like it should too. enjoy the beast. :D:beer;

hello just wondering what kit you used to rebuild your 900? i need to rebuild mine and was wondering if SPI is a good kit or should i get polaris parts? Thanks

I didn't re-build the engine just pulled it out to change the mounts. I also put in torque arm/stop and replaced lower a-arms and skis. So the entire sled was torn apart and I re-built it. (Thus first ride after re-build.) I hear the Polaris parts are cheaper if you order from Babbits just make sure you use the 06 crank and pistons.

Babbits, Carls Cycle.... both great places to deal with, and for me up in Canada either place is alot cheaper than buying from my shady non-local Poo dealer.

Cheers and enjoy the 900 grunt:beer;;)

Funny you mention that. First ride on mine after the engine rebuild, sled felt really "loose" and tippy on the trail out of the alpine at the end of the day. I was checking it out at home a couple days later and found the right side of the sway bar was gone. It broke off right at the mount on the right side of the belly pan. I guess that would account for the "loose" feeling.:eek::D

I'm going to get rid of it. It handled fine when it was just swinging in the wind all day. I hear it makes the sled eaisier to steer but I couldn't tell. It did dart around a lot on the trail though. Just go faster and its fine.
